Austin, TX- Concordia University Texas men's basketball team (1-4, 1-1 ASC) fell to The University of Texas at Dallas (5-0, 2-0 ASC), 96-75 in American Southwest Conference play Monday night at the Concordia Field House. The UT Dallas Comets shot 62% from the field on the night, securing their victory.
Concordia was led by freshman
Kenny Williams who finished with 20 points and three steals. Other top scorers were
Brad Walker and
Jason Recendez who each finished with 11 points. The Comets were led by Temaine Wright with a game high 23 points.
As a team Concordia shot only 36% from the field making 23 of 63 which is not enough to combat the Comets shooting 32 of 51. The Tornados were also out-rebounded 39-27 although they did force 21 Comet turnovers.
Concordia will be on the road this coming weekend as they travel to East Texas to take on LeTourneau University on December 6, 2008 in Longview, TX. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 PM. They will then match up against East Texas Baptist University on December 8, 2008 in Marshall, TX at 7:30 PM.
