Austin, TX- The Concordia University Texas Tornados picked up a 92-77, American Southwest Conference (ASC) loss to Mary Hardin Baylor on Monday night at the Concordia Field House. Concordia falls to 4-6 overall and 3-3 in the ASC while, UMHB improves to 5-5 overall and 3-3.
The Tornados went into half time trailing UMHB 46-42 although late foul troubles proved critical in the second half. UMHB also went on an early six point run in the second half which Concordia could not recover from.
Concordia finished with only two players in double digits led by guards
Joel McDonald and
Brian Elarms who each finished with 11 points.
Mary Hardin Baylor was led by Tilmon Gaddy who finished with 27 points.
As a team the Tornados shot 37% from the field compared to the Cru who shot 54%. UMHB was also more effective from the free throw line as they shot 81% making 26 of 32 while, the Tornados shot 68% making 28 of 41.
Concordia will be on the road next as they travel to Clinton, MS to take on Mississippi College Thursday night. Opening tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
