Not Enough Time Left for the Tornados

Abilene, TX- Concordia University Texas men's basketball team fell to the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys, 87-83 in American Southwest Conference action, Thursday night at the Mabee Complex. The loss drops Concordia to 7-12 overall and 6-9 in ASC action while Hardin Simmons improves to 7-13 overall and 6-10 in ASC. 

Hardin Simmons came out on fire to start the game lead to a, 59-40 halftime lead. 

In the second half, Concordia went on a 10-0 run midway through to put them within seven of the Cowboys. With only 56 second of play left, the Tornados came within two of the lead although unable to connect on the last second shot the Tornados dropped the 87-83 game. 

The Tornados were led by Juniors Brad Walker and Jason Recendez who finished with 24 points and 21 points respectively. Freshman Kenny Williams also added 11 points. 

Hardin-Simmons was led by Carlos Singer with 27 points. 

As a team, Concordia shot 46 percent from the field as compared to the Cowboys 53 percent. In the first half of play Hardin Simmons shot 67 percent. 

Concordia will be back in action again on their Abilene road series against McMurry University on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 3:00pm. Last time that the two teams matched up McMurry picked up the 99-93 victory.
