BOX SCORE

ABILENE, Texas --
The Hardin-Simmons University men's basketball team stunned Concordia University Texas on Thursday night with a late push in the second half to claim an 83-72 win at the Mabee Complex.

Concordia (10-8, 8-6 ASC) saw its four game winning streak come to an end as the Tornados were unable to hold off the Cowboys (4-13, 4-9 ASC).

Hardin-Simmons' push came with five minutes left in the game.  Trailing 61-60, the Cowboys scored seven straight points to claim a six-point lead (67-61).  The Tornados received a layup from #Justin Reefer# to cut the lead to four (67-63), but Hardin-Simmons would extend its lead to nine with back-to-back jumpers.  #Brian Elarms# would get free for a layup to cut the lead to seven (72-65).  Back-to-back free throws from #Kenny Williams# cut the lead to five (72-67) with 1:56 left in the game.  However, the Cowboys answered again, this time pushing the lead to 14 behind a 9-0 run.

The Cowboys would complete the comeback win after Concordia held an early 13-point advantage (22-9).  CTX held the lead for most of the first half, but Hardin-Simmons would trim the lead to just one point at halftime (33-32).

#Brad Walker# paced the Concordia offensive effort, scoring 19 points.  Elarms netted 12.

The Tornados will look to return to the winning side of things on Saturday as they travel across Abilene to play McMurry University at 3 p.m.
