Austin, Texas –
Justin Reefer and
Tayler Jacobs each registered a double-double and made some key shots down the stretch in leading the Concordia University Texas men's basketball team to a 73-60 victory over Beloit in the final game of the CTX Holiday Classic on Friday, Dec. 31 at the Concordia Field House.
Beloit (3-6) came out firing from the opening tip and took a 9-3 lead by the first media timeout. David Bremner and Patrick Kenny had two field goals each to pace the Buccaneers during the early run.
Concordia, which trailed the entire first half, chipped away at the deficit and brought it down to just two points on a 3-pointer by

Kenny Williams hit a buzzer-beating jumper to make it a 35-33 game at the recess.
The Tornados picked up where they left off at the end of the first half to start the second.
Josh Johnson gave the hosts their first lead of the game at 41-39 when he slammed home a dunk after coming up with a loose ball on the other side of the floor.
Larry Durand and
Chris McDermott each converted from downtown shortly afterwards to extend the advantage to 49-41 with 12:37 left in regulation.
Beloit made an attempt to rally and trimmed the Tornado lead down to three on two occasions in the last six minutes. However, Concordia held its ground and ended the half with nine unanswered. Jacobs closed out the scoring by converting a pair of free throws with 28 seconds on the clock.
Reefer registered 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Jacobs scored 10 and grabbed 10 boards to lead Concordia.
