Abilene, TexasJosh Johnson fell just shy of a double-double of the points-rebounds variety, but the Concordia University Texas men's basketball team fell to McMurry by a 111-79 decision on Thursday, Jan. 19 at the Kimbrell Center.

After Donald Lee scored the game's first basket, McMurry scored 15 unanswered and never looked back the rest of the way. A Dominick Warren layup at the 12:53 mark gave the Warhawks a double-digit lead at 22-11 for the remainder of the game.

Concordia, which trailed 54-33 at the break, got a quick spark in the second half courtesy of a rare four-point play by Nick Haynes that made it 56-37. However, that was as close as Concordia would come before the final horn sounded.

Johnson recorded 11 points and eight boards to go along with two blocked shots to pace Concordia. Henry Riasco and Lee netted 12 points apiece, while Haynes netted 11 to round out four double-digit scorers for the Tornados.

McMurry (11-4, ASC 7-4), which outrebounded Concordia by a count of 49-32, was led by Steven Jones' double-double performance. He finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, which were both game highs, while contributing four steals. Bryce Hill was also among six Warhawks to net twin figures, finishing with 15 points.

Concordia (8-8, ASC 6-6), which has lost three straight games, will face Hardin-Simmons on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 3 p.m.
