AUSTIN, Texas – Four Concordia University Texas players scored in double figures, and the Tornados rolled to a 95-84 victory over Ozarks in American Southwest Conference (ASC) action on Thursday night at Concordia Fieldhouse.
Dwayne Patterson netted a team-high 21 points, while
Josh Sanchez added 20.
Andre Potts (16) and
Brett DeMetrotion (12) also racked up double digits. Patterson added a career-high seven steals, while Potts and
Jonathan Garza each dished out eight assists.
The Tornados (9-3, 6-3 ASC), who have won six of their last seven contests, led by as much as 20 in the second half.
Led by 22 points and 12 rebounds from Ted Beard IV, the Eagles (4-7, 2-6 ASC) were within one (59-58) with 10:57 to play. However, Concordia Texas ripped off a 24-5 run over the next 10 minutes to take control of the league game.
The Tornados shot 49.3 percent (34-of-69) from the field, including 33.3 percent (7-of-21) from beyond the arc, and 74.1 percent (20-for-27) at the free-throw line. CTX also scored 33 points off 26 Ozarks turnovers.
The Eagles managed to shoot 40.3 percent (27-of-67) from the floor, but only 23.1 percent (3-for-13) from behind the three-point line.

• The 95 points was the third-highest total scored by the Tornados this season.
• Concordia set a season-high with 25 assists and six blocked shots.

Josh Sanchez scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half.

Dwayne Patterson missed out on a double-double, as he posted 21 points, nine rebounds, seven steals, two assists and one blocked shot in 34 minutes of action.

Andre Potts' eight assists are a season high.

Xavier Alvarado scored a season-best eight points in 10 minutes off the bench. Alvarado also blocked a pair of shots.
