AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas men's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in the 2014-15 campaign, as the Tornados (0-1) travel to Texas Lutheran (0-1) on Tuesday night. Tip-off for the non-conference matchup is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium in Seguin.

LAST TIME OUT
Concordia Texas dropped a 101-93 decision to McMurry in the season opener this past Saturday. Donovan Ford paced the Tornados with 25 points, while Josh Sanchez netted 22 and posted a game-high five steals. CTX shot only 33 percent in the contest. The Tornados forced 32 turnovers, but were outscored in the paint, 52-20.

ABOUT THE SERIES WITH TEXAS LUTHERAN
Tuesday night's game is the 62nd meeting in the all-time series. The Bulldogs own a 37-24 advantage in the series, which dates back to the 1981-82 campaign. The Tornados have won seven of the last nine meetings with their former ASC foes, including back-to-back contests in the 2012-13 season. Concordia posted a 92-86 win over TLU in the last matchup on Feb. 7, 2013.

MORE ON THE BULLDOGS
Texas Lutheran was handed a 92-77 setback in Saturday's season opener at No. 22 Texas-Dallas. The Bulldogs distributed minutes between 18 players, and Jordan Kouremetis led the way with 20 points.

#FAST40
The Tornados have led the American Southwest Conference in scoring in the last eight seasons. In the past four years, Concordia has ranked among the top 10 in the nation in scoring. The Tornados averaged 87.6 points per game last year, which ranked eighth in the country.

SANCHEZ ECLIPSES 1,000-POINT MARK IN SEASON OPENER
Josh Sanchez surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career in the Tornados' season opener last Saturday. Sanchez netted 22 points, which gives him 1,005 points in 75 career contests. The senior guard has logged 942 points in 54 games with Concordia and posted 63 points in his freshman season (2009-10) at McMurry. Sanchez is 58 points away from becoming the 13th player in CTX history to record 1,000 points in the purple and gold.

SANCHEZ VERSUS THE BULLDOGS
Josh Sanchez has enjoyed success in two games against Texas Lutheran. The Houston native averaged 29.5 points in two wins against the Bulldogs during the 2012-13 season. Sanchez netted 37 points in Seguin during the first meeting on Jan. 19, 2013, and then followed that performance up with 22 points in another win three weeks later in Austin.

WELCOME BACK
After missing the 2013-14 season due to an injury, Terry Corprew returned to the floor in the Tornados' season opener last Saturday. The senior guard scored seven points, grabbed two rebounds and handed out an assist in 17 minutes of action. During the 2012-13 campaign, Corprew averaged 11.5 points and shot 45.2 percent in 30 games off the bench for CTX.

WHAT'S RETURNING?
Concordia returns 13 letter winners from last year's club that finished with a 16-10 overall record. The Tornados also return 1,625 of 2,278 points (71%) and 622 of 984 rebounds (63%) from last season's team.

UP NEXT
The Tornados will continue their road trip on Thursday, as the squad heads to south Austin to play St. Edward's in an exhibition tilt. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
