AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas men's basketball team opens its 12th season with head coach
Stan Bonewitz at the helm.
The Tornados, led by top-returner
Rashad Coleman, were picked third in the ASC West. On Saturday, they'll open the 2015-16 campaign against cross-town rival Huston-Tillotson. CTX features 14 newcomers and 11 returners from a team that finished second in the American Southwest Conference Tournament last season.
The Rams already have two games under their belt, earning a 104-80 win in their opener against Oklahoma Wesleyan. They followed that up with a 114-94 loss to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Shai Fields leads H-T, averaging 32.0 points per game in his first two contests. Christopher Edwards paces the rebounding effort with 15 total boards.
Saturday's tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. at the Concordia Fieldhouse.
