BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas men's basketball team fell 91-76 Monday night to UT Dallas to open a three-game homestand.

Donovan Ford's game-high 24 points were not enough as the Tornados (7-8, 2-4 ASC) went cold during a three-minute long second-half stretch that the Comets (11-3, 5-2) used to put the game away.

Ben Page was the only other Tornado to tally double figures, scoring 10 points. Kyle Coulter led the Comets with 21 points.

Both teams got off to a slow start in a very defensive first half. After battling to seven ties and trading the lead several times, UTD went into the break with a 36-35 lead. Neither squad led by more than five in the opening 20 minutes.

The second half opened much like the first, but after Josh Samuels hit a 3-pointer to draw Concordia within one with 7:58 remaining in regulation, the Comets began their surge. Eventually, UTD led by as much as 15 with 4:17 left. The Tornados chipped away to get within seven at the 2:38 mark, but the Comets closed the contest on an 8-0 spurt.

Concordia hosts Sul Ross Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.
