BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas --
Rashad Coleman earned 12 of his 23 total points at the free throw line Thursday night as he helped the Concordia Texas men's basketball team to a 106-96 win over Sul Ross State at Concordia Fieldhouse.
The Lobos (5-3 ASC, 9-8) entered the night atop the ASC West, but the Tornados (3-4 ASC, 8-8) rallied past their division rivals.
Concordia was able to take advantage of Sul Ross' struggles at the free throw line as the Lobos finished the game 23-of-43. The Tornados converted 33-of-45 at the charity stripe, including Coleman's 12-for-12 perfomance.
Donavan Ford (14),
Ephriam Price (13) and Josh Samuels (10) also tallied double-figures to pace CTX's scoring output.
Ben Page pulled down a game-high nine boards.
The first half was back-and-forth throughout. The Lobos held a 29-28 about midway through, but the Tornados went on a 7-1 spurt to regain the lead for what would be the final time. Concordia led 51-46 at the intermission.
The Tornados opened the game up, taking a 12-point lead early on in the second half. That advantage would increase to 17 with 5:20 left in regulation. Sul Ross rallied back to within five with 1:28 remaining, but Concordia finished on a 6-1 rally.
The Tornados conclude the homestand Saturday at 3 PM against Howard Payne.
