BOX SCORE BROWNWOOD, Texas -- The Concordia Texas men's basketball team grabbed a key 66-63 road victory at Howard Payne Thursday night in Brownwood.

The Tornados (13-9, 7-5 ASC) took a one-point lead with just 2:37 remaining in regulation on a layup by Ben Page and defended their way to the win column as the Yellow Jackets (9-14, 4-8) tried to make a late push. Fortunately for Concordia, HPU would go 0-for-3 from the field and committed three turnovers down the stretch while the Tornados would add a bit of insurance on a layup with 90 seconds left.

Page would end the night with a team-best 16 points. Greg Rollins added 11 while Rashad Coleman and Demarco Richardson tallied 10 apiece to lead the CTX offensive effort. Page and Coleman also led the Tornados with five boards each.

Concordia led 31-26 at the break and would open up a 13-point lead early in the second half at 41-28. Howard Payne came all the way back to tie the contest at 51 with 8:29 on the clock. The Yellow Jackets had a six-point advantage with just over five minutes to play at 59-53, but the Tornados would outscore their hosts 13-4 to close out the victory.

CTX takes on Sul Ross State Saturday in a huge ASC West showdown in Alpine, Texas. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
