AUSTIN, Texas - Concordia Texas men's basketball guard
Joey Ramirez has been named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week, the league's office announced on Monday. This marks the
second time in Ramirez's career that he has earned the honor.
In a 117-107 win over Arlington Baptist, Ramirez tallied 23 points, seven boards, four steals and three assists in 29 minutes of action.
In Sunday's 100-89 victory over East Texas Baptist, Ramirez recorded a season-high 31 points to go along with team-highs of eight rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.
Ramirez and the Tornados have been on a tear in the early parts of this season. Ramirez is
second in the SCAC at 25.0 ppg, while Concordia currently ranks second in the nation with
114.3 ppg and
28.7 forced turnovers per game.Â
