IRVING, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team had four Tornados earn SCAC All-Conference honors, the league announced on Saturday.

Kiki Gonzales,
Taysie Trejo, &
Katelyn Tietjen were all recognized for their outstanding efforts this season.
Mathews, a graduate senior from Palestine, Texas, earned First Team honors and finished second in the Player of the Year race. She finished second in the league with 22.2 ppg, and fourth with 9.9 rpg and 2.6 spg. Mathews also recorded 10 double-doubles with season highs of 38 points (twice) and 18 rebounds as both marked program-highs by a single player in over a decade.Â
On the season, Mathews was named the SCAC Player of the three times this season and was named the first ever Tornado to be named the
USBWA National Player of the Week. Her 510 points were the seventh most, her 22.2 ppg was the third most, her 227 rebounds were the fourth most, and her 9.9 rbg were the sixth most in a single season in program history.
Gonzales, a junior forward from Hermleigh, Texas, was also a force to be reckoned as she earned the nod on the All-SCAC Honorable Mention Team. She finished second on the team with three double-doubles.
Her season-high in scoring was 22 points in her third start of the season on 9-15 FGM against Pacific Lutheran. She also hauled in a career-high 15 boards on the road at LeTourneau.Â
Trejo, a mid-season sophomore transfer from Howard Payne, was also named to the All-SCAC Honorable Mention Team. The Midlothian, Texas native finished second on the team with 12.2 ppg and 35 total steals.Â
Providing a spark as a combo guard, Trejo scored double-digits in 10 of her 19 appearances this season. Her season-high in points was 22 on the road at Colorado College.
Tietjen, a freshman from Hurst, Texas, took over the reigns as the points guard and was named as to the All-SCAC Honorable Mention Team & the SCAC All-Freshman Team. Appearing in 24 games and making 21 starts, the first year guard was fourth on the team with 8.8 ppg.
She also led the Tornados and was 11th in the conference with 2.8 apg. Proving to be a two-way guard, Tietjen averaged a healthy 1.1 steals per game. Tietjen's posted a career-high nine assists in her debut against Lewis & Clark. Her season-high in points was 18 in the win over McMurry.
