AUSTIN, Texas - In search of their 11th consecutive winning season, the Concordia Texas men's soccer team will rely on a plethora of new faces in year two of the Jordan Parron era. After losing 16 seniors from a year ago, the Tornados have brought in a stellar recruiting class to mix with eight returners who saw extensive minutes a year ago.

"The spring was big for us. We were able to shift the culture to the way that I want us to be. The returners that are coming back all bought into it.", said Coach Parron. Leading the charge for Concordia's returners are a pair of 2024 All-SCAC selections, Jesse Garfias & Ahmad Alhendi.

Garfias, a junior midfielder, started in 17 of the team's 18 matches last season. Logging 1336 minutes in 2024, he recorded the most minutes by any returner by 300+ minutes. He recorded three goals and one assist for seven points. Out looking over the season, Garfias said, "I think for us, we're not just here to compete. We're here to go and try to win. Morale is real high. We're all confident and ready to go!"

Alhendi, a senior defender, competed in sixteen matches and started in thirteen for CTX a year ago. He is also the only other returner to have played over 1,000 minutes.

Senior Bryan Rios is the team's leading point scorer from last season as he poured in four goals, including a pair of game winners. You can also expect continued productivity from Devin Hammel, Alejandro Rojas, Luis Pineda, Adrian Requena, & Steven Dolan; who all competed in double-digit matches for Concordia last fall.

Concordia Texas opens up the 2025 campaign on the road at Howard Payne next Thursday, September 4th. There first five matches will be on the road. The first home match of the season will be September 23rd against ETBU, which will also serve as Senior Night. Conference play for the Tornados kicks off on September 26th at LeTourneau.
