Concordia University Texas junior Josh Sanchez has been named the Taco Bell Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday morning

Sanchez led Concordia Texas to a 2-0 record last week, as he averaged 27.5 points 5.5 rebounds and 2 steals. The 6-foot, 200-pound guard shot 51.4 percent (19-of-37) from the field, including 35.3 percent (6-of-17) from beyond the arc. He also hit 11-of-15 attempts from the charity stripe.

The American Southwest Conference's leading scorer opened the week with 22 points and six rebounds off the bench in a 103-98 double-overtime win over Mississippi College last Thursday. He followed that performance up by dropping 33 points and collecting five boards in an 83-80 victory over Louisiana College two days later.

Sanchez now has scored 30 or more points in four games this season and increased his scoring average to 21.6 points per game.
