AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas men's basketball team will return to action on Saturday afternoon when it travels to Kerrville to play Schreiner in a non-conference tilt. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. (PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE)
ABOUT CONCORDIA TEXAS
The Tornados enter the weekend contest with a 5-2 overall mark and have won back-to-back contests. Concordia Texas knocked down 14 3-pointers and rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to knock off then-No. 20 Mary Hardin-Baylor, 96-93, last Saturday. The Tornados rank fourth in the country with 96.7 points per game, while the squad is shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Concordia also has connected on 37 percent of its shots from beyond the arc and the club is hitting 73.8 percent of its attempts from the free-throw line. The Tornados also force 19 turnovers per game.
ABOUT SCHREINER
The Mountaineers own a 2-6 overall record this season and have lost three of their last four games. Texas A&M-Kingsville handed Schreiner a 79-67 loss last Saturday in Kerrville. The Mountaineers average 70 points per contest and the squad is shooting 47.2 percent from the floor.
LAST MEETING
Concordia topped Schreiner 95-80 in the last meeting on Nov. 26 in Austin.
Dwayne Patterson scored 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Tornados pull away with a 20-6 run in the final five minutes of the game.
