Concordia Texas to wrap up regular season this weekend

2/19/2014 7:30:00 PM

AUSTIN, Texas – With only two games remaining in the regular season, the Concordia University Texas men's basketball team will face its toughest home stand of the year, as the American Southwest Conference's top two squads are welcomed to Concordia Fieldhouse this weekend. The Tornados will host No. 17 Texas-Dallas at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Hardin-Simmons at 3 p.m. two days later.

Concordia Texas (16-7, 13-7 ASC) has dropped three of its last four games, including back-to-back road contests at Texas-Tyler and Ozarks last weekend. The Tornados are tied for third in the league standings with I-35 rival Mary Hardin-Baylor. Concordia could receive seeds 3-5 in next week's ASC Tournament, depending on this weekend's outcomes around the conference.

Prior to Saturday's game, the Tornados will honor their three seniors – Jonathan Garza, Jared Jenkins and Dwayne Patterson.
