SUWANEE, Ga. – Concordia Texas women's soccer senior Karis Hickey was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. This is the second time in her career earning the honor.

Hickey anchored the Tornados' back line during an undefeated week that featured consecutive shutout victories over Howard Payne and Dallas. She logged all 90 minutes in both matches as Concordia defeated Howard Payne 2-0 before opening SCAC play with a 1-0 victory over Dallas.

The CTX defense limited Dallas to just three shots, including two on goal, as the Tornados secured their second consecutive clean sheet.

Hickey and the Tornados will next be in action this Friday where they will host Austin College. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
