Shamika Singleton posted her third double-double of the season with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds, but the Concordia University Texas women's basketball team dropped a 92-68 decision to Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference action on Thursday, Dec. 2 at the H.O. West Fieldhouse. The Wildcats led wire-to-wire and started each half on a big run to remain undefeated this winter.
Louisiana (7-0, ASC 6-0), which made its first NCAA Tournament appearance last season and is currently receiving votes in the national polls, jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead before the teams played each other evenly for much of the first half. Singleton then scored the first eight points for the Tornados to spark a comeback.
After trailing by as many as 13, Concordia would slice the deficit to just five at 31-26 courtesy of five straight points by
Christen McLee. However, the Wildcats recovered and ended the half on an 18-8 run. Preseason All-American Tillisha Givins got hot after starting the game off quietly and would finish the first half with 12 points to give her team a 49-34 lead through 20 minutes of action.
Louisiana also started off the second half strong on a 7-0 run, but the Tornados responded by rattling off 11 unanswered to make it a 56-45 game with 14:21 left. Singleton made a short jumper to start the comeback before
Dominique Mayberry canned a trifecta.

Tiesha Martin made jump shorts on consecutive possessions to cap the run.
But the Wildcats responded and extended to their lead to 29 points thanks to Janet Butler, who sank one of her four shots from downtown. The Tornados scored the last six points of the game, as
Brianna Smith drilled a three-point field goal before Singleton and
Lashanda Luckey combined to convert three shots from the charity stripe.
Along with Singleton, who also added a team-best four steals, Concordia was led by Mayberry and Luckey. Mayberry finished with nine points and five assists, while Luckey contributed six points, six rebounds and three steals In addition to Givens, a preseason All-American who posted 16 points and nine boards, the Wildcats were paced by Roslyn Wilmer as well as Kayla Guidry and Briana Lewis. Wilmer had 17 points, while Guidry and Lewis netted 15 apiece.
Concordia (2-3, ASC 2-2) wraps up its challenging road trip when it visits undefeated Mississippi College on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
