Michael Childs is one of the most decorated student-athletes in the history of the men’s basketball program. He lettered from 1982-85.

Childs most notably guided the 1982-83 Concordia Lutheran College men’s basketball team to the National Little College Athletic Association National Championship, which was capped by a 74-68 win over Central Platte College on March 18, 1983. Childs scored 707 points, which is a single-season school record, and averaged 20.8 points while also corralling 8.1 rebounds per game that year.

In addition, Childs is the program's all-time leader in points, scoring average, field-goal percentage and rebounds.
