Rusty Segler was at the helm of the men's basketball program spanning eight seasons from 1988-96, posting a record of 91-152 and has the third most coaching wins in program history. During the 1991-92 season, Segler coached the Stags to a 21-win year, the third-most wins in a single season in program history. During his coaching tenure, he oversaw the development of some of Concordia Texas' best players in school history, including 2009 hall of fame inductee Wendell Holmes, as well as three other 1000-point scorers in Kevin Dydalewicz, Clay Cole and Todd Redmond. Segler is the sixth coach inducted in the Concordia Texas Athletics Hall of Fame, joining Mike Gardner, James Keller, Jack Faszholz, Linda Lowery and Tom Orton.
