Scott Linebrink (1995-1997) became the first Concordia baseball player to appear in Major League Baseball.  Linebrink made his Major League Baseball debut on April 15, 2000, with the San Francisco Giants.  His number 7 jersey is retired by Concordia.

Retired from baseball, Linebrink spent 12 seasons in the MLB.  The right-handers pitched for six different MLB franchises, including four seasons with both the Houston Astros and San Diego Padres. Linebrink, who credits fromer Tornados head coach James Keller with putting him on the mound for the first time, earned 42 wins and eight saves in his professional career as a reliever, while logging 656.2 innings.

Linebrink donated $300,000 to assist Concordia with the construction of a new baseball field in 2009.
