Concordia University Texas senior men's basketball player Dwayne Patterson has been named the Taco Bell Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday morning.

Patterson averaged 17 points and 11.5 rebounds in a pair of road league victories for the Tornados last week. The 6-foot-5 forward collected his fourth and fifth double-doubles of the year in the process. Patterson scored 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win over LeTourneau. Two days later, he narrowly missed a triple-double after racking up 22 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists, five steals and one blocked shot in an overtime victory at East Texas Baptist. The American Southwest Conference's leading scorer shot 43.3 (13-for-30) percent from the floor during the week.
